This camera ticked a lot of my boxes that I wanted in a camera. Small, lightweight, good range of lenses (not to mention small sized primes), affordable, fast AF, able to burst above 6fps, shoot 1080i HD video, weather proof and to me one of the biggest things... IBIS - In Body Image Stabilisation. Yes you don't get the same shallow DOF as a full frame sensor but really, it didn't bother me as much as I initially thought it would. Spec wise it's tough to find anything out there that beats this especially at this price point! Did I mention you get great pictures too?
These two lenses give me the versatility I need 99% of the time. Being 35mm & 90mm focal lengths (35mm equivalent), I can basically get all the shots I need with these two for what I like to shoot. A big plus that sold me on the MFT system was how tiny these lenses are, not to mention how affordable too! I can have a 90mm lenses that's smaller than the palm of my hand... tell me that isn't amazing!
This is one of my favourite setups to take with me if I'm heading out the door and am not sure what I'll see through the day. It first scared me to only have a 35mm lens (35mm equivalent), but the more I shot with it, the more comfortable I became and realised how versatile it was. A big plus for me was its size & weight, or lack there off. Carrying this setup with me all day didn't get in my way or cause me any aches. My only wish is for Olympus to come out with a compact, weather proofed, fixed focal length fast prime... not asking for much.
What if someone told you that you could stand out in a Desert Storm, the Pouring Rain or Freezing Snow and not have to care about your camera and continue to click away? They're not crazy, they just have one of these. Giving me a 35mm focal length equivalent of a 24-80mm lens, I can take this anywhere and never have to be worried about the weather forecast again... ever!
